Welcome to my fantastic blog, I’m so happy you stopped by! Time will tell whether it’s fantastic or a flop, but this is as good a place as any to begin the continuation of my journey. Am I ready… absolutely not. Quite frankly it’s a little unnerving, but incredibly exciting. I’d love for you to hang around with me and cheer (or cry) for my impending success or failure.
Get back out into the world (my husband says), and find something that can make some money. Now I don’t expect this will be the money-maker he had in mind, but it is an avenue to showcase myself and my style, and introduce myself to all of you lovely people. It just so happens that getting back into the daily grind is very, very difficult after a ten year child-rearing/homemaking adventure. Although substitute teaching is nice, and remodeling the house is cool and all, I’m ready to be back out in the world: from behind my computer screen that is. Baby steps.
“Let’s get some puppies,” he says (and of course our daughter absolutely agrees), so now we have two Teddy Roosevelt Terrier pups. I didn’t think I was ready to have dogs again, but I absolutely love them. They help me get infinitely less done around here than before, but they’re incredibly cute while doing it, so that’s ok. I can’t leave them at home alone for an entire day, so no more subbing for me. That’s ok too.

I am a freelance writer/editor because I love writing and I always have. Even literally before I could write I had such a desire to do so, I would scribble lines with waves and peaks on a sheet of paper. I would proudly take my work to my parents to find out if it said anything. Unfortunately I’m no savant. It never said anything but I do recall doing this, and I must have only been about three years old.
It’s very rewarding to take something good and make it better; perhaps even more so than writing something of my own. I was a poet ages ago, but any of you poets might know how things can go: happiness comes in, poetic muse goes buh-bye. Change happens. I’m currently editing my mom’s first book pro-bono, to give her story better flow and more detail. I’m getting a little experience under my belt and having fun while doing it. I’ve added some material to a local website and they’ve requested I view/update their other virtual locales; and I’m fast on my way to making a really cool blog full of useful information. Right now it’s about as palatable as a bowl of kibble but I’m new to this, I promise it will get better.
What are my interests?
Well since you asked… a few topics on my list of future posts include: pet stories and tips, parenting observations, and organization of clutter. I have several things planned for the really exciting stuff like digital communication and perceived tone. Yay! Hang around and you’ll get to read about my home renovation wins and how to go forward with a fail, furniture restoration projects that turned out really well, and my dumpster-diving adventures. Ok, so I haven’t been actual dumpster-diving since I was pregnant, but that’s a story for another time. If there’s something in particular you’d like to see on my site, just let me know!
I hope you’ll be back soon!
